Via Francigena in Lombardy

NG01 - The Naviglio Grande

Total length
21.7 km

This itinerary covers the last part of the Naviglio Grande, the most ancient of the canals creating the system of the Navigli (canals) of Milan.
It was started in 1177 and made totally navigable in 1272. It is an important communication route now suffocated by strong urbanization, which sometimes makes cycling inconvenient.

Itinerary made on behalf of Regione Lombardia - Promozione Attività Turistica in 2007.
